Under Trump, critical institutions such as USAID, Radio Free Asia, and Radio Free Europe-key pillars of American soft power and the global promotion of freedom-were severely weakened or dismantled. These institutions provided credible, independent news and information critical to resisting authoritarian narratives abroad. Disturbingly, MAGA supporters cheered these moves, completely unaware that authoritarian states such as Russia, China, and North Korea celebrated alongside them. Fox News played a pivotal role in generating enthusiasm for dismantling these institutions by framing them as unnecessary or harmful.

The Bizarre Narratives and Toxic Delusions of MAGA Logic

Challenging MAGA narratives often reveals absurd rationalisations. One prominent example is the claim that tariffs would somehow eliminate income taxes and restore human rights-an utterly baseless assertion never even suggested by any credible economist or policy maker. Rather than defending democratic principles, these votes isolate the U.S. on the global stage. MAGA supporters celebrate such actions, tragically oblivious to their impact: weakening American influence and prestige globally.

Toxic Masculinity and the Celebration of Criminality

The MAGA movement’s obsession with hyper-masculine, confrontational personas has attracted questionable and deeply problematic figures. From Trump’s longstanding friendship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, accusations of rape and sexual assault against Trump himself, to support for figures like Andrew Tate (currently facing serious charges related to human trafficking), the MAGA movement increasingly seems comfortable with morally reprehensible behaviours.

Other controversial figures embraced by MAGA include Conor McGregor, repeatedly accused of sexual assault; Russell Brand, facing serious rape allegations; and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, who has actively protected members of his political circle involved in paedophilia scandals. By celebrating these individuals, the MAGA movement sends a disturbing message that toxic, abusive, and criminal behaviour is acceptable-even rewarded-with political power.

A Movement Morphed into Dangerous Extremism

Traditional conservatism once stood for law, order, morality, and democratic values. However, the MAGA iteration of conservatism now champions a toxic brand of masculinity, conspiracy theories, and a tolerance-even encouragement-of criminality. Fox News plays a crucial role in normalising and propagating these toxic attitudes, further alienating America from traditional conservative values.

Self-Inflicted Collapse and National Decline

Fox News and MAGA’s actions-knowingly and unknowingly-represent a profound betrayal of American principles. Their hyper-masculine, aggressive identity has devolved into a dangerous movement betraying national interests and aiding adversaries such as Russia and China. By fostering ignorance and promoting divisive, deluded narratives, Fox News is systematically dismantling America’s democratic fabric and power from within.
